TEAM UP with TTI to tackle trauma
We are excited to announce our new Crowdfunder campaign, TEAM UP to Tackle Trauma.
During the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing project updates, articles and newsletters - do follow us on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn to get the updates first. You will hear from our brilliant partners and clients about what we do at TTI and the impact our work is having.
To showcase the behind-the-scenes action, each week our posts will centre on one of the strategic priorities that underpin our projects and make our mission possible.
As 2024 begins, war, terror and horrific events are affecting millions of people. Support us today and make an impact on the lives of trauma victims affected by war and human rights abuses. By donating to our TEAM UP campaign, you can help our small team of psychologists and human rights workers to #TEAMUPtotackletrauma.
So, how do we improve access to trauma treatment globally?
Over the last two years, we have been refining our strategic priorities. Through the following FIVE objectives - creating our acronym TEAM UP - we can achieve our mission of improving access to trauma treatment for survivors of collective violence, worldwide:
TREAT: Improving access to evidence based trauma treatment for victims of collective violence, wherever they are in the world.
EDUCATE: Increasing knowledge of trauma and trauma informed practice in homes, communities and workplaces.
ADVOCATE: Elevating the trauma agenda, and advocating for evidence based, trauma informed treatment and structural change; empowering those exposed to trauma to safely voice their lived experience, to access justice and inform service design.
MANAGE, MITIGATE & PREVENT: Supporting organisations working in trauma exposed contexts to understand and manage the risk of secondary trauma, promote staff wellbeing and deliver trauma informed services.
UPSKILL & INCREASE CAPACITY: Promoting the diversity and skills of mental health practitioners, wherever they are in the world; supporting capacity building within communities in high-trauma contexts to treat trauma, where state or other provision is lacking.
These five strategic priorities guide our efforts as we work with communities and partners to build a society that is trauma-informed.
This means organisations, communities and individuals are not only aware and sensitive to trauma but also understand how to effectively engage with people who have or are experiencing trauma, and put this into practice.
We want to live in a world where trauma victims feel safe and empowered by those around them, providing safe spaces that prevent re-traumatisation. We know that social support is one of the most significant factors impacting the risk of someone developing PTSD, so ensuring our society is trauma-informed is crucial.
Join us this year as we #TEAMUPtotackletrauma.
These are unprecedented times in terms of the level of trauma being felt due to collective violence around the world.
We are rapidly expanding our team to be able to accommodate the additional demand for our work in the UK and internationally. Every donation received will ensure we meet the needs of organisations, communities and individual victims of trauma. Together we can support people to heal from the trauma of torture, trafficking, slavery, persecution and war.
We are excited to take this journey with you over the coming weeks, as we move into 2024 and feel the hope of the new year ahead. Together, let’s #TEAMUPtotackletrauma
