Standing together for hope and healing
Since I joined Trauma Treatment International in November, war and conflict has again risen globally with the US and Israeli war on Lebanon and Iran, writes CEO Sarah Cutler.
Our thoughts are with all those experiencing destruction and displacement wherever it is happening.
In this global context, our work feels more needed than ever.
Tomorrow, I am joining a co-production session to shape our new practical guide for those working with survivors of torture. Guided by the lived experiences of survivors, we are working together to create trauma-informed organisations who are equipped to deal with the most extreme forms of deliberate violence.
Holding onto hope and standing up for our values is more important than ever too. This Saturday I will be joining supporters of the Together Alliance to show love, unity and hope in the face of a rising far right.
Empowering survivors and frontline organisations
At Trauma Treatment International, we deal daily with the consequences of hate, division and violence. We support hundreds of people each year to recover from mental and physical health challenges caused by organised violence. And we offer practical resilience skills to our partner organisations so they can in turn continue their vital work in defence of dignity, justice and human rights.
Standing in solidarity
We know that understanding and healing from trauma builds healthy relationships, safer communities and a more just and peaceful world. So we will be there on Saturday to show we are stronger together and stand in solidarity with communities experiencing racism, antisemitism, Islamophobia and other forms of violence and hate whipped up by those who seek division.
You can sign up to the Together Alliance here. And please do consider supporting TTI’s work through a regular donation if you can.
