Our story

In 2015, clinical psychologists Dr Brock Chisholm and Dr Katy Robjant came together with independent human rights consultant Polly Rossdale in a combined mission.

With vast experience of working with survivors of collective violence like torture, trafficking, slavery and war, and the frontline organisations that support them, they were driven by the desire for justice of those affected. They were also keenly aware of the lack of evidence-based treatment available for those suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

And thus, the concept of Trauma Treatment International was born. The trio made it their goal to help those organisations which work to end human rights abuses, and which promote accountability for those who perpetrate them. They also pledged to ensure that more people with PTSD had access to the help they needed, and to offer that treatment through a pool of associate psychologists.

Brock, Katy and Polly worked tirelessly for two years getting the organisation off the ground, and their efforts paid off in October 2017 when TTI gained registered charity status.
