Your support for our BBC Radio 4 Appeal delivers incredible impact

A huge thank you to all our supporters across the UK for your generous donations to our BBC Radio 4 Appeal in March. Since then, the £5,000 raised has helped us sustain our trauma treatment service, providing vital psychological support to victims of torture and violent conflict.

Ten individuals are in active treatment and seven have completed treatment in the last six months. The average number of treatment sessions was 14.

Voiced by Call the Midwife actor Christopher Harper, we told you the story of Tugrul (pictured above), who was held hostage for eight months in Africa. Upon his release, he suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder, and it was only through trauma treatment from TTI that he was able to look to the future with hope.

More than funds raised

Thanks to the exposure provided by the broadcast, we received many benefits from being part of this exciting appeal. These include:

  • More partner engagement: Organisations working with communities impacted by trauma and with people who've experienced human rights violations reached out to us for support.

  • Crucial fundraising boost: We raised over £5,000 through the appeal, which was a big step toward our 2025 fundraising goal. This money will help us expand our life-saving services including one-to-one trauma treatment.

  • Huge public engagement: We saw a big upsurge in traffic to our website around the appeal, showing that the broadcasts successfully raised awareness of our work.

  • Growth in new donors: We welcomed a significant number of new donors, linking us with new individuals who share our mission to end the devastating psychological impact of collective violence

Your contribution to the Radio 4 Appeal has brought us so much closer to our vision—a world in which everyone affected by the trauma of collective violence can lead fulfilled lives in a supportive, trauma-informed society.
