A three-year grant from leading barristers’ chambers Matrix has significantly boosted Trauma Treatment International’s capacity.

TTI CEO Quen Geuter explains why donating to our BBC Radio 4 Appeal is imperative, to ensure we can continue our life-changing trauma treatment work.

Counsellors working with highly traumatised people in war-torn Myanmar have benefitted from training in Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET), led by TTI co-founder Dr Katy Robjant. 

We are delighted to share that the transformative work of Trauma Treatment International will be featured in a BBC Radio 4 Appeal on Sunday, February 23.

We are delighted to say that we have provided more than 180 sessions of therapy to Afghan women lawyers, judges and human rights defenders who had to flee their country when the Taliban took over in autumn 2021.

Due to the significant growth in need for our work over the last few months, following rapid scaling up of our work since 2022, we are now recruiting to build our internal clinical capacity. 

Women across Afghanistan who have been emotionally and psychologically impacted by losing their right to a university education will be given expert support thanks to a project between TTI and Afghans for Progressive Thinking.

We are extremely concerned by the impact that the far-right riots, online hate and physical threats have on those who already suffer the psychological trauma of persecution and war and those who work with them.

Trauma Treatment International is delighted to welcome two new trustees to its board, each of whom brings a wealth of personal and working experience to the charity.
